Tattoo Removal

DO:

• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session.
   
• Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the treatment area out of the sun or use SPF 30+ for at least 2 weeks prior.
   
• Shave the Area: If needed, gently shave the treatment site the night before.
   
• Avoid Topicals: Do not apply lotions, creams, perfumes, or makeup on the area the day of treatment.
   
• Disclose Medications: Let us know about any antibiotics, blood thinners, or photosensitizing medications you're taking.
   

DON’T:

• No tanning beds or self-tanner 2 weeks before treatment.
   
• Avoid alcohol or aspirin 24 hours prior (they can increase bruising risk).
   

DO:

• Keep it Clean & Dry: Gently clean the area with mild soap and water; pat dry.
   
• Apply Healing Ointment: Use an antibiotic ointment or Aquaphor as directed for 3–5 days.
   
• Use Cold Compresses: Reduce swelling and discomfort with cold packs (wrapped in cloth).
   
• Wear Loose Clothing: Avoid friction or pressure on the treated area.
   
• Use Sunscreen: Once healed, apply SPF 30+ daily to prevent hyperpigmentation.
   

DON’T:

• No picking or scratching scabs/blisters – this can cause scarring or infection.
   
• Avoid hot tubs, pools, and saunas for 7–10 days.
   
• Don’t expose the area to direct sunlight until fully healed.
   
• No heavy exercise for 24–48 hours post-treatment (to reduce sweating and irritation).
   

During Treatment:

• A snapping or stinging sensation (like a rubber band)
   
• Possible mild discomfort – numbing cream is available
   
• Quick sessions – typically 10–30 minutes depending on tattoo size
   

After Treatment:

• Redness, swelling, and tenderness for 1–3 days
   
• Possible blistering or light scabbing (normal part of healing)
   
• Gradual fading of the tattoo with each session
   
• Sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart for optimal healing and ink clearance
   

Multiple Sessions Are Needed:

• 8-12 sessions are the average for most tattoo removals; some tattoos require more treatments depending on:
  • Ink colors and depth
     
  • Tattoo age and size
     
  • Skin type and immune response
